Hi, I’m Abby. I’m proud to be the third-generation owner of Suburban Furniture. My husband, Pat, and I are both Waseca natives, and together we’re raising our five daughters while owning and operating businesses in the community we love.
To me, Suburban is so much more than a furniture store. It’s a place to gather ideas, discover pieces you won’t find just anywhere, and enjoy the experience of creating a home you love. We want every visit to feel inspiring. Whether you’re shopping with friends, searching for the perfect finishing touch, or planning a complete home makeover.
If you stop by on any given day, you’ll probably find our team gathered around a table covered in fabric swatches, flooring samples, and window treatment books, helping a customer pull everything together. You might catch us rearranging the showroom, hanging new artwork, unboxing the latest home accessories, or styling a new display. We’re always creating fresh spaces to inspire you.
Our goal is simple: we want Suburban to look different every time you walk through the doors. That’s what has made us a destination for home furnishings in southern Minnesota. Since 1959
Suburban Since 1959… (the short version)
1959
Suburban’s story starts way before I was around. In 1959 my grandparents, Lawrence and Leta Clemons, opened the store and went with the name “Suburban Furniture and Flooring” because it was outside of city limits…hence, Suburban!
1994
My parents, Kevin and Keri Clemons, purchased the store in 1994. They built a new building on the North side of town and moved Suburban to where it is today. They added home accessories, rugs, lamps and art. They turned Suburban into the destination in Southern Minnesota that it is today!
2019
In 2019, I purchased Suburban Furniture from my parents, becoming the third generation to own and operate the store. I’ve loved carrying on the family legacy while adding my own style and vision to the business.
